Message from the Executive Director

Dear loyal JBI Members,

Welcome to your membership update portal! The Joanna Briggs Institute, an international, independent, not for profit research and development organization, is now in its sixteenth year of activity and we are proud of the great strides we have taken during that time to contribute to the development of strategies to support evidence informed clinical decision making at the point of care. Now servicing health professionals from all health disciplines on every continent across the globe, we are passionate about continuing to provide the high quality information and tools that we always have and to increasing our capacity and scope to deliver those products.

In order to achieve this goal, as you may already be aware, the Joanna Briggs Institute has joined forces with Wolters Kluwer Health (encompassing Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and Ovid). The time between the first announcement of this partnership and it becoming a reality has been lengthy. Partnerships such as these are complex and require a significant investment of time and resources in order to ensure a smooth passage for all involved. We are particularly mindful of this for our members who are the lifeblood of our organization and who we know rely on our information and tools in their every day practice. We have undertaken to work tirelessly over the course of the last 18 months with the team at Wolters Kluwer Health in New York to in order to make sure this transition is a seamless one for our members.

This partnership took effect on October the 4th 2012. In order to keep you up to date we have created a special web page to keep you informed. Here you will find important information, messages and frequently asked questions regarding the changes.

Sincerely,

Professor Alan Pearson AM
Executive Director
